T-56

I will be using a T-56 gearbox in this car, as fitted to many cars worldwide, including LS1/2/3 Commodores/HSV's, Corvette, Dodge Viper, and many others. This particular example is a TUET6000 as fitted to the VZ V8 Commodore locally.

This box uses a hydraulic throwout-bearing - no clutch fork. The bleed on the hydraulic bearing is known to be problematic and difficult to operate once mounted - this will be even more so in a Cobra with very limited tunnel space. The solution is to fit one of Mal Wood's remote bleed kits;

This will allow for easy, and one-person, bleeding. The gear stick location also needs to be relocated - you can see from the first two photos above that there is what looks like an inspection plate about 30cm in front of the stick - the stick will be relocated to this position due to position of the box and the place you sit in a Cobra. More on this mod later.

Bricks...(or not)

Bricks are next on the agenda, however my chosen bricky has just been handed a job for a double story house , so I won't be seeing him for two weeks at least.

In the meantime, I picked up the T-56 gearbox that I will be using in this car. Photos soon.
